Dominggus Davincy Dimu, born May 24, 1987, better known as Domz Dee, is a rap music performer and currently a hype man, supporting famed Indonesian rap artist Yacko
Domz is notable as one of the first who helped popularize local version of gangsta rap in Jakarta-Bogor-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabotabek) hip hop scene. Being forerunner in this new wave gangsta rap revival, he finds his way in Zero One Production under the supervision of founder, Mo Charizma, who taught him how to compose more advance verses, hooks and chorus. His rapping inspired many Jabotabek rap music fans, with some even furthered to establish their own gangsta rap equivalent
Domz Dee has been dealing with the hardship through his life. Growing up in a low socio-economic family with single parent mother, he lived his entire childhood through ferocity in the hood of northern Tanjung Priuk, North Jakarta.
The reputation of crime-infested Priuk’s and his dangerous way of life were introduced earlier in his first single, “Parang untuk Berjuang (Machette for My Struggle)”, but not as blatant and all-over as his later renowned hit single “Free York”, which rose him shortly to favourable public reputation. He also further showed his crimson deeds in “Pemburu Pembunuh”, featuring well-known Tangerang gangsta rapper, Phat B
Serving as hype man for Yacko, Domz has performed in TV shows across big cities, as well as the first and sophomore of international R’n B music festival, Soulnation.
Although living real gangsta-like life, the 22 year old-street smart often laments how disgraceful gangsta rap fans have turned, after finding out many of them try hard to look like a low-life criminal, not grateful to normal life they live with.
From the street to your stereo. Real life gangsta is on the go.
Please welcome the North Jakarta’s Finest rapper … Domz Dee
